About Mott

The emergence of statewide afterschool networks is a significant component of the C.S. Mott Foundation’s vision of building practices and policies committed to the development and sustainability of quality school-based/school-linked afterschool programs. A visionary leader, founder C.S. Mott believed in the connection between individuals, schools and communities. Afterschool programs and school-community partnerships help to strengthen and support this legacy.

The C.S. Mott Foundation supports the networks with resources, technical assistance and opportunities to network with one another and other experts. Technical assistance is provided in large part by the organizations comprising the Afterschool Technical Assistance Collaborative. These national organizations – Afterschool Alliance, Council of Chief State School Officers, The Finance Project, National Governors Association and National League of Cities – with support from the University of South Carolina Educational Foundation, Collaborative Communications Group and Learning Point Associates, contribute their expertise and knowledge in providing hands-on technical support as well as contribution to the overall vision of the statewide afterschool networks.
