Missouri AfterSchool Network

The Missouri AfterSchool Network (MASN) builds systems across the state that improve, support, and sustain high quality afterschool programs. Our vision is that “All school age children and youth in Missouri have access to high quality, sustainable afterschool programs.”

  • MASN’s White-Riley-Peterson Fellow regularly communicated with stakeholders and created a new blog, MO Afterschool Advocate, to increase participation by afterschool program staff.

  • MASN received a Network Data Grant to collect site level data, map the data, and create legislative-district specific fact sheets.

  • MASN developed an online process for collecting site level surveys (youth, family, staff, community partner, etc.) for 21st CCLC and CCDF grantees that can also be used by non-grantees.

  • MASN has established a fee-for-service model related to new data collection efforts.

  • MASN hosted the 5th Annual Midwest Afterschool Science Academy and a statewide Afterschool Summit focused on Middle and High School programming.

  • MASN sponsored two STEM pre-conferences at state afterschool conferences and the 2nd Annual Lights on Afterschool 5K Glow Run.

Current Projects and Initiatives:
  • MASN is creating a comprehensive marketing and Champions development campaign focused on the theme “Afterschool Works!”
  • MASN’s Quality Committee is working on drafting school-age licensing rules to submit to the Department of Health.

  • MASN plans to host a two day Afterschool Summit, including an evening “Celebration of Afterschool” banquet in the spring of 2016.
