Nevada Afterschool Network

Because young people spend 80% of their waking hours outside of school, the Nevada Afterschool Network (NAN) is dedicated to improving public awareness, support for quality programming, resources for parents, and ensuring access for all of the youth of Nevada in those out-of-school hours. NAN serves as a hub for advocacy, public awareness, collaboration, and partnerships to advance out-of-school time programming.

Current Projects and Initiatives:
  • Implementation of Quality Standards among 21st CCLC programs.

  • PD webinar series on quality.

  • Working to protect all OST programs from burden of new potential law (AB197).

  • The Nevada Afterschool Quality Standards Task Force completed the quality self-assessment tool and pilot tested the tool throughout the state.

  • Presented recommendations to the interim HHS Committee about the findings of pilot testing.

  • Restructured contract with NV Department of Education to secure ongoing funding.
