New York State Network for Youth Success

The New York State Network for Youth Success - formerly ASW: NYSAN - works to strengthen the capacity and commitment of communities, programs and professionals to increase access to high-quality programs and services beyond the traditional classroom.

Current Projects and Initiatives: 
  • Network for Youth Success supports the development of an effective and integrated statewide system of high-quality afterschool, summer, and other expanded learning opportunities (ELOs) by leading policy efforts, providing testimony at budget hearings, hosting policy events and hosting professional development opportunities.

  • Network for Youth Success hosted a Summit on Local Leadership for Afterschool, Summer and Expanded Learning Opportunities to develop students and engage communities.

  • New York City began over 300 new middle school afterschool programs through the SONYC program funded through a combination of city and state dollars.

  • Systems-building: Two new Regional Networks, H.O.S.T Collaborative and Expanded Learning Network of Broome and Tioga were added to NYSAN, were added to Network for Youth Success’s partners.

  • Network for Youth Success also began convening a New York State Learning Community of state educational association leaders around the importance of expanding learning opportunities through school-community partnerships.
