- More than 400 afterschool students, parents, legislators and community members joined this year's Hawaii Lights On Afterschool Celebration at the State Capitol.
- The Hawaii Afterschool Alliance was formed in October 2014. During the first few months, the Alliance focused on building its governance structure.
- The Hawaii Afterschool Alliance hosted its first summit in May 2015 and featured a full-day agenda of keynote speakers, networking events and innovative, engaging workshops on out-of-school learning. The summit - Celebrating Out-of-School and Summer Learning - brought together stakeholders from across the state to share ideas and best practices, explore new topics and continue to build a network for high-quality out-of-school time learning opportunities for youth.
Current Projects and Initiatives:
- The Hawaii Afterschool Alliance continues to work to establish a foundation of support for sustainable and quality afterschool programs for all children in Hawaii.
