California Law Enforcement Finds After-school Programs Leave Out High School Students During Prime Crime Hours
The new report is the first report in the nation to address the after school needs of high school students and provides evidence that California after-school programs for high school students reduce crime, drug use and other risky teen behavior and improve academic achievement, cites severe shortages in every California county and profiles more than 35 after-school programs across the State.


This Afterschool Alliance alert speaks to the collaboration that should take place to support high schools, ensuring higher graduation rates, college readiness, workforce development, closing of the achievement gap and keeping kids on track.
