Resources

For afterschool networks and practitioners looking to build coalitions, identify quality programs, catch up on research or create a legislative initiative, there is a resource that serves to give the afterschool community ideas and tools to further engage and expand their networks.

Due to popular demand, Resources on Afterschool:

  • Is now available exclusively online
  • Is database-driven
  • Has enhanced search capabilities
  • Contains new resources
  • Integrates public and network specific resources

This comprehensive online tool, created by Collaborative Communications Group, although not inclusive of all the resources in the afterschool field, provides a substantial spectrum of quality resources designed to guide afterschool networks and individual practitioners in a multitude of areas. In its fifth edition, the Resources On Afterschool online tool provides selected resources in the areas of: research and evaluation, promising practices, professional development, public awareness and communications, policy, and financing in afterschool. In addition to the public database, networks can log-in to search specific resources for networks only!

Afterschool as a Vehicle for Youth Obesity Prevention
This Web page provides wellness policy and youth obesity prevention resources in five areas: partnerships, policies, models, research and data collection systems and funding.

    Afterschool for High School Students
This Web page, created from an open discussion call, serves to provide useful links to afterschool programs, reports and sites supporting programming with high school youth.

These materials document successes and challenges and help to understand and capture the knowledge developed by the Statewide Afterschool Networks.
